Ongoing Professional Development:
Commitment to a journey of life-long learning
As a practicing artist and teacher, I believe it is integral to consistently better my professional career through continuous learning and development of skills. In addition to the Professional Development Program, I attended various conferences including:
-
I am currently accepted and will begin my "Masters of Education: Curriculum and Instruction, Arts for Social Change" Fall of 2016 at Simon Fraser University.
-
EDUC: 477, "Designs for Learning Art" at Simon Fraser University. I just completed taking this class to better my art teaching practice. I created a blog to document each weeks class and the activities throughout: http://nastashamol.wix.com/educ477
-
EDUC: 311, "Foundations in Aboriginal education, Language and Culture" I took this class to improve my knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal Peoples and Cultures so I have more knowledge going into my teaching practice as well as be more empathetic and respectful in Truth and Reconcilliation as I move forward.
-
EDUC: 452, "Environmental Education" (My Minor). I created a blog to document each weeks classes and activities throughout the 6 week course.

Throughout the summer of 2016, I will continue to professionally develop by taking courses in Enviromental Education, Foundations in Aboriginal Education, Language and Culture, and Designs for Learning in the Arts. I have learnt so much from my Faculty, School advisors, professors and my peers, that I feel confident in entering the field of education with my established support systems.
In the future, I will continue my professional development by taking classes, courses, workshops concerning visual arts, educational theory and practice, and by attending Pro-D conferences offered in the lower mainland.
